Thank you so much for coming to see Ronnie yesterday at the Flyball event. It does help him to know that he has such a wide fan base! Both boys were obviously thrilled to see you. While you were there, Ronnie was more interested in saying hello to you and wasn’t quite as good at the game as he could have been. Or, to be honest, he messed up his runs completely but consequently became a favourite with the audience. Later on we had another session. All the runs before us went like clockwork again and then as soon as Ronnie appeared on the ground everyone cheered and the announcer said “OK Ronnie. Now’s the time to redeem yourself.” First run – same as before – he ran out and everyone laughed. Second run and the announcer says “Brilliant run, Ronnie. Next time remember to take the ball back with you!” as Ronnie did the run perfectly but dropped the ball on the way back. Then came the third and final run. I wish you had seen it. ALL the other dogs got bitten by the Ronnie bug!! Our first runner ran out and across to the other team so their first runner ran into him and dropped the ball. Our second runner ran up and dropped the ball on the way back. Their second runner ran out and got in the way of our third runner who chased him off the track without even going for the ball. So, as all the other owners were chasing around trying to catch dogs and tennis balls, the track was left clear for Ronnie to run a perfect run up to the box, grab the ball and run straight back to me like an angel! The crowd erupted, - cheering, applauding, and laughing. I was so proud of him. Afterwards people kept coming up to pet him and one man said that he had been enjoying it anyway but Ronnie had made him cry with laughter and it made his day. I expect people will be stopping us in the street soon and asking for Ronnie’s pawtograph! He’s in the team again next weekend so do come and watch. Love Joy
